Emotional and Spiritual Care (ESC) Training

The LERT Task Force of the Indiana District is sponsoring ESC Training on Saturday, June 15, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bremen, Indiana, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Eastern Time. A $10 registration fee covers the cost of materials and refreshments. This fee will be collected at the event check-in.

This training will educate participants about the emotional and spiritual needs of people in crisis and equip them to provide care in the name of Christ. Participants will also learn how to care for themselves and their teammates as they perform crisis response work.

This training is intended for LERT members, Comfort Dog Handlers, Stephen Ministers, Elders, Lay Caregivers, and anyone who wants to help trauma victims become survivors.

The presenter is Rev. Timothy Engel, from Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Portage, Indiana. Rev. Engel is Chaplain for the Portage Fire and Police Departments and has deployed to numerous disasters, including Henryville, Indiana, and Newtown, Connecticut.

St. John's Lutheran Church in La Grange Illinois invites kids ages 5 to 14 to attend their five day Summer Fine Arts Camp: The World is God's Tapestry. A creative artistic faith-based program that encourages and challenges artistic expression through music, movement, drama and visual art.

Early Registration by June 1: $125 ($100 each additional child per family)
After June 1: $150 ($125 each additional child per family)
