Pastor Herbert Grieves, Cross Lutheran, Yorkville Seeks Car for Couple in Need Print E-mail
Cross Lutheran Pastor Herbert Grieves, semi-retired pastor helping Cross Lutheran Church, Yorkville, Illinois, requests help for a couple needing a car to get to work and to medical appointments. This couple, in their 40's, has been without a home for about a year and has been staying with a friend during that time. They were recently baptized by me at the friend's home and have continued in home instruction in the Lutheran Christian faith. The woman has major health challenges and is awaiting results from an MRI to determine if she has bone cancer. The man has been actively seeking work but has had to rely on borrowing a friend's car to get to work when an opportunity is available. The friend's home may no longer be available to them in the near future and they are in need of a car for transportation to a steady job and to medical appointments.

Vehicle Crucial for Veteran with Medical Concerns Print E-mail
Pastor Tim Gibbons Pastor Tom Gibbons, the assistant pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church, Roselle, IL writes that a vehicle is needed for an older couple who require reliable daily transportation for shopping and frequent medical appointments at the Hines VA hospital and to get to other area doctors. The husband has had recent surgeries for illnesses that are believed to be linked to his exposure to "agent orange" during the Vietnam War. This has made it impossible for the husband to continue working. The couple exists only on social security income and they are unable to repair their old, very high mileage full sized van. A vehicle of any type in good running condition would enable the couple to get to church, the grocery store, and their frequent medical appointments.

If you have a working car or van please consider donating it to LCC for this couple. All vehicles that are donated to LCC go directly out to families or individuals through our congregations. NO vehicles are sold. If you would like to donate call LCC at 866-455-6466 and we will help with the details.

Faith Lutheran in Troy, Michigan Looks for Donated Car to Help Immigrants Learn to Drive Print E-mail
Car Request Hameed Altai, Director of International Missions at Faith in Troy, Michigan helps immigrant families assimilate into life in the United States. Crucial to that transition is attaining a driver's license. Getting a license and a used car solves 75% of the problems for families according to Altai. Faith offers new immigrants and refugees driver's education so they can get their licenses. They use the church parking lot to teach driving skills and also prepare them for the written portion of the test. Hameed explains the need for at least one additional car to help this ministry.
For the present time I am using my private car to teach the students how to drive. However, the number of students is growing and one car is not enough to do the job. The demand for getting a driver license is huge and the need for used cars is big too. My request is to pray for me to get a used cars so we can use it to teach the students the driving system and to help them to get a driver license also to help them to get their first car. That will be a great help and will solve a big problem for the new immigrants and refugees. Thank you my friend and may the peace and the mercy of the Lord be with you.

If you would like to donate a car for this ministry through LCC please contact us at (866) 455-6466 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Pastor Paul Klopke of Living Christ Arlington Heights Seeks Car for Woman in Need Print E-mail
Pastor Klopke Pastor Paul Klopke has asked LCC to share the need of a woman in his community for a working vehicle. He writes...
Several months ago (September 2, 2012) Living Christ held an outreach event called "The Church has Left the Building". We went to McDonald's, nursing homes, a laundry mat, a community song fest and department store parking lots doing many acts of kindness. At one location (the Wheeling laundry mat) the owner was taken so much by our generosity that she recommended to a woman who was in need to park her old and dying car some place to call Living Christ Church. She said, "This church helps people in need".

Marcy contacted me three weeks ago and I allowed her car to stay on our parking lot temporarily. Many prayers have been offered up for her and her car. Several days ago she has informed me that she sold her car and that it will be picked up by the end of the week. God is good! Marcy who works part time and is underemployed still needs a car.
If you know of anyone that has a used car that they would like to donate to the church for this needful woman please contact LCC at (866) 455-6466 or email LCC at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for details on how to make a car donation.
